How to put twitter handle on AddThis sharing button for Blogger

     Social media is essential in websites in reaching out and expanding readers and so website owners have seen a great importance in using social media sharing buttons in building up new followers and returning readers on their site.

     As a website owner myself, it is important for me that I can track who are my readers and be engaged as possible to whatever a reader shared through the embedded social buttons from my website to their social sites connections and followers.  Because they have been partaking in my goal to increase traffic on my site and as a way of appreciation I may like, re-post or thank what they have posted if I noticed this in my notification or status feed.  And that is why I included my Twitter handle in my website's Twitter button to track how my post has gone so far.

     If you are using AddThis social buttons like in my other website here's how you can simply customize your Twitter button:

1.  Log in to your Blogger account then it then select the website you would want to modify your Twitter button.

2.  It will lead you to the next template which is your Dashboard and from there click on the "Layout" listed on the left as pointed by the arrow below:

3.  The next page after clicking the "Layout" is your website's template as shown below, then search the location of your HTML gadget, if you put title on your gadgets it is easier for you to locate it as shown in my sample pointed by the arrow with the title "Social Share button".

4.  Click on the blue "EDIT" portion at the lower right of that gadget and it will lead you to another page which is "Configure HTML/JavaScript.

You will see this default code provided by AddThis upon your installation.  I have highlighted in blue the HTML code for Twitter which you will modify:

<!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_floating_style addthis_counter_style" style="left:50px;top:50px;">
<a class="addthis_button_facebook_like" fb:like:layout="box_count"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_tweet" tw:count="vertical"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_google_plusone" g:plusone:size="tall"></a>
<a class="addthis_counter"></a>
<script type="text/javascript">var addthis_config = {"data_track_addressbar":true};</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="//"></script>

<!-- AddThis Button END -->

5.  Insert this code: tw.via='YOURTWITTER'   and it will look just like this:

     <a class="addthis_button_tweet"tw:via='YOURTWITTER' tw:count="vertical"></a>

      Note: Replace YOURTWITTER with your Twitter handle dropping the @ sign then click on the SAVE button.

And now you should see the changes when you click that Twitter share from your website.

So there you go, customizing your Twitter social button is as easy as 1-2-3!

Nine things I like about upgrading my iphone to IOS7

Last week, iphone launched their latest IOS 7 over the speculations on the release of iphone 5C and iphone 5S.  I read several comments from the first ones who upgraded their phones to IOS7 and noticeably most of those comments I read are not satisfied with the new features.  I maybe one of the opposite of those together with others who love the new features, maybe because the new looks of the widgets are apparently different from what they are used to be.  It is unusual because it has been several times that iphone upgraded its IOS without altering the icons and this time it was totally a whole new image – more vibrant, clearer and the development has been for the simplicity of access to different applications.
